With almost every mountain getting over our projected snow total this week, it was a great week to get out skiing! The Top 30 was hard to rank this week but each one is a top-quality mountain!
1. Mad River Glen (+1)
2. Killington (+1)
3. Jay Peak (+1)
4. Saddleback (+1)
5. Stowe (+1)
Each mountain gets a bump here but remains in the same order. Mad River Glen takes the top spot and there are very little mountains that can compete with them when the snow is good. Killington and Stowe have terrain across the mountain open and Saddleback keeps adding trails throughout the week. Jay Peak comes in at three due to the wind holds last week.
6. Sunday River (-5)
7. Okemo (+2)
8. Waterville Valley (+2)
9. Pico (-1)
10. Bretton Woods (+6)
Sunday River fell out of the top spot and slipped to number six while Okemo and Waterville rise in the rankings due to exceptional weeks that included snowfall and terrain expansion. Pico opened a couple trails but drops below while Bretton Woods opened a few glades and most of their trails which puts them in the top ten.
11. Sugarloaf (=)
12. Loon (-5)
13. Stratton (+2)
14. Bolton Valley (+3)
15. Smuggler’s Notch (+4)
Staying at 11 is Sugarloaf but Loon drops five spots due to other mountains within New Hampshire having better weeks along with Pico being a better option at the moment. Stratton, Bolton Valley, and Smuggler’s Notch were all tough to rank since they all were very similar this week but we gave the edge to Stratton due to their consistency over the past months.
16. Attitash (+2)
17. Cannon (-3)
18. Sugarbush (-6)
19. Sunapee (+4)
20. Mount Snow (-7)
A bit of a surprise here as Attitash passes Cannon and that is due to Attitash having a great week opening Tightrope and Wandering Skis among other trails. Sugarbush and Mount Snow drop in the rankings due to chairlift problems but they still have a good selection of terrain open.
21. Gunstock (-1)
22. Magic Mountain (+5)
23. Pleasant Mountain (-2)
24. Bromley (+1)
25. Black Mountain NH (+1)
The highest riser in this group is Magic Mountain and they are on the way to getting most of the mountain open. Gunstock and Pleasant Mountain drop a little due to trails closing midweek before reopening for the weekend. Bromley and Black Mountain get slight bumps after solid weeks.
26. Berkshire East (-4)
27. Cranmore (+2)
28. Mount Abram (NR)
29. Burke (NR)
30. Mohawk (=)
Berkshire East lost eight trails from since the weekend ended and drops down four spots. Cranmore has more than half their trails open and jumps two spots up and Mohawk stays in after having almost all trails open. Burke and Mt Abram join the rankings after each had great weeks.
Biggest Jump: Bretton Woods (16 to 10)
Biggest Drop: Mount Snow (13 to 20)
New To Rankings: Mount Abram, Burke
Dropped From Rankings: Pats Peak, Catamount
