It’s March which means this is our last Top 30 before the annual tournament to decide which ski area was the best this season! The bracket will be released on Friday and voting will start the following Monday.

1.        Jay Peak (=)

2.        Killington (=)

3.        Mad River Glen (+1)

4.        Saddleback (-1)

5.        Stowe (+1)

Jay Peak stays strong at number one and Killington follows at two while Mad River Glen hops Saddleback as they are 100% open and there are some pitches on Saddleback closed. Stowe jumps back into the top five after a strong week.

6.        Sugarloaf (-1)

7.        Sunday River (=)

8.        Smugglers Notch (=)

9.        Cannon (+5)

10.   Bolton Valley (+2)

Sugarloaf falls at no fault of their own while Sunday River and Smuggler’s Notch stand pat. Cannon reached 100% open for the first time this season and continues to have a great season. Bolton Valley surpassed the 300-inch mark for snowfall this week and is a great option for powder and no lift lines.

11.   Waterville Valley (-2)

12.   Okemo (-2)

13.   Bretton Woods (=)

14.   Wildcat (+7)

15.   Magic Mountain (+2)

Waterville Valley and Okemo drop two spots each although both are having incredible seasons. Bretton Woods lost a few trails but sticks at 13 while Wildcat reached 100% open and is operating at nearly full capacity as all lifts except the Snowcat Lift are spinning. Magic Mountain has a majority of its terrain open with no crowds and is one of the most underrated ski areas in all of New England.

16.   Sugarbush (-1)

17.   Loon (-6)

18.   Black Mountain NH (-2)

19.   Pico (-1)

20.   Stratton (=)

Everyone except Stratton drops in the rankings as more mountains have moved up. Stratton jumps Sunapee after Sunapee closed all of their glades.

21.   Sunapee (-2)

22.   Pleasant Mountain (=)

23.   Mount Snow (=)

24.   Bromley (+1)

25.   Gunstock (-1)

Sunapee stays ahead of Pleasant Mountain as the terrain is similar right now but the views at Sunapee are slightly better. Bromley hops Gunstock because they just have better terrain overall and the glades are better over at Bromley.

26.   Cranmore (+1)

27.   Berkshire East (-1)

28.   Attitash (NR)

29.   Black Mountain ME (NR)

30.   Ragged (-2)

Cranmore had a great week while Berkshire East is feeling some of the effects of being in the southern parts of the region. Attitash is back with most of the mountain open while Black Mountain of Maine has been going strong most of the season and we decided to show them some love.

Biggest Jump: Wildcat (21 to 14)

Biggest Drop: Loon (11 to 17)

New To Rankings: Attitash, Black Mountain of Maine
