Week 9 Top 25


Top 25

1.      Sugarbush (+3)

Sugarbush has expanded terrain on both peaks with the newest storm bringing eight inches of powder putting them back on top.

2.      Waterville Valley (-1)

Waterville Valley continues to impress this season while New Hampshire has struggled as a whole with the weather this season, it has not stopped Waterville.

3.      Killington (=)

Killington continues to offer some of the best snow in New England and opened up a lot of trails with the recent snowfall.

4.      Sunday River (+6)

Sunday River boasts the most open terrain in Maine and New Hampshire and got the Jordan Bowl back open.

5.      Stowe (+4)

Stowe got a big boost with the storm and opened up more terrain on the Mansfield side.

6.      Okemo (-4)

Okemo expanded terrain again by getting more trails in Jackson Gore open in Vortex and Quantum Leap while also getting 13 inches in the past 48 hours.

7.      Pats Peak (+4)

Pats Peak gets into the top ten after being the first ski area in New England to reach the 100% open mark.

8.      Stratton (-2)

Stratton has had a consistent trail count throughout the season and have built a really good base and the added snow helps a lot.

9.      Sugarloaf (-4)

Sugarloaf may have had a tough time with wind hold today but there is still good quality skiing all over the mountain.

10.  Smuggler’s Notch (+3)

Smuggs rounds out the top ten with a majority of terrain on Sterling Mountain open and it is only a matter of time before Madonna opens.

11.  Loon (-4)

Loon has South Peak open on a consistent basis now and continues to have a good season.

12.  Mount Snow (-4)

Mount Snow had a little trouble with North Face being closed for part of the day recently, but they have since gotten a lot of snow and have some of the best skiing in southern Vermont.

13.  Bretton Woods (-1)

Bretton Woods recently opened Water Tank and Deception Bowl which adds some challenge to their Rosebrook Area.

14.  Cannon (+1)

Cannon got around eight inches of snow and opened up Zoomer and the Tram is likely to follow in the coming weeks.

15.  Berkshire East (-1)

For the best skiing in southern New England, go to Berkshire East.

16.  Saddleback (=)

Saddleback had a pretty even week in terms of opening and closing trails and sit around where they were last week.

17.  Gunstock (+4)

Don’t look now but Gunstock is closing in on getting all of their trails open and are likely on the way to have at least 40 by the end of the month.

18.  Mad River Glen (NR)

Mad River Glen rejoins the rankings after some much-needed snow caused limited access for a majority of the week.

19.  Sunapee (-2)

The snow before the snowstorm was good at Sunapee but now it is definitely better!

20.  Pleasant Mountain (NR)

Pleasant gets bonus points for creativity as they had to shift operations a bit and are using the Sunnyside Triple to open up the summit while their main base area summit lift remains down with an unspecified mechanical issue.

21.  Wildcat (NR)

Wildcat may only have nine trails open, but they are very high quality, especially for only having two ways down the mountain.

22.  Bromley (-4)

Bromley has been consistently building upon their trail count since they opened and will continue to do so.

23.  Jay Peak (-3)

Jay Peak just needs that one big storm to open up everything and skyrocket up the rankings.

24.  Catamount (NR)

Catamount might have got hit hard in the best way with the snow storm Sunday and were able to open up a few more ungroomed trails.

25.  Attitash (NR)
