Week 8 Top 25



Top 25

1.      Waterville Valley (+2)

Waterville Valley has silently had one of the best seasons in the east even with all the rain with 40 trails open. A majority of Tecumseh remains open while they look to expand terrain.

2.      Okemo (+4)

Okemo had a good holiday week with 50 trails open and some expansion in terrain during the week.

3.      Killington (-2)

Killington remained mostly the same in terms of conditions and open terrain and was still a really solid option this week.

4.      Sugarbush (-2)

Sugarbush hasn’t been able to get as much as they had early in the season open but Mount Ellen provides a lot more options for skiers.

5.      Sugarloaf (+5)

Currently the best mountain in Maine, Sugarloaf has continued to add terrain after a rainy week.

6.      Stratton (+2)

Stratton was able to moderately open the Sun Bowl over the week with just two trails and the cold weather will help them get more open.

7.      Loon (=)

Timbertown opened over the weekend for the first time ever which means South Peak was open before the New Year.

8.      Mount Snow (+1)

Mount Snow has had a really good recovery from the rain and has a lot of terrain to offer from Carintha to the North Face.

9.      Stowe (-5)

Stowe got hurt a lot by the bad week and has just 35 trails open.

10.  Sunday River (NR)

Sunday River reenters the rankings with a good recovery week after the flooding left a lot of damage.

11.  Pats Peak (+4)

Pats Peak may very well be the first ski area in New England to be 100% open as they are sitting at 24 of 28 trails open.

12.  Bretton Woods (+4)

Bretton Woods held onto the snow well and will now look to add more snow and expand via snowmaking.

13.  Smuggler’s Notch (+11)

Smuggs has not really been able to expand out of Sterling and Morse Mountain so far this season but once Madonna opens then they become one of the best in New England.

14.  Berkshire East (+9)

Berkshire East has had a slow start to the season, but they have really been great as of late and are one of the best options in Southern New England.

15.  Cannon (-10)

This week the Cannon Effect backfired with the warm temperatures, usually they get some extra snow but instead they got some extra rain.

16.  Saddleback (NR)

Saddleback has had a really up and down season so far and they look to add more trails with cooler temps moving in.

17.  Sunapee (+1)

Sunapee has been slowly adding terrain and have some of the best views in the east.

18.  Bromley (-6)

Bromley gets a lot of sun which is not good for holding onto snow, but they still have 17 trails open.

19.  Wachusett (-6)

Wachusett has stood pat for a while now and still offers a lot of options.

20.  Jay Peak (=)

Jay Peak needs a lot of natural snow to really be a destination ski area but with just snowmaking going right now they have 12 trails open.

21.  Gunstock (-10)

Gunstock kept a lot of trails open but there was a lot of thin cover before the rain.

22.  Jiminy Peak (-5)

Jiminy Peak has had a consistent number of trails open throughout the season and was not really affected by the rain.

23.  Ragged (-2)

Ragged has had the same trails open for a while now but they still have a lot to offer.

24.  Pico (NR)

Pico may only have 11 trails open, but they are all good quality trails open.

25.  Burke (NR)

Burke re enters the rankings after having a decent recovery from the storms.

New To Rankings: Sunday River, Saddleback, Pico, Burke
