Week 5 Top 25


Top 25

1.      Saddleback (+22)

Saddleback nearly got 100 percent open in their second week open which is nothing short of impressive. After being closed today it will be interesting to see what is still open.

2.      Sugarbush (-1)

Sugarbush got all of Lincoln Peak and had Castlerock completely open with plenty of powder to go around and there will likely be more added in the coming weeks.

3.      Mad River Glen (NR)

Mad River Glen opened for the season with over 40 trails and the single chair making them the biggest riser of the week.

4.      Jay Peak (-2)

Jay Peak drops a little and its not because of anything they did which was get over 70 trails open, its just that other mountains have also been having a strong season.

5.      Stowe (-2)

Stowe still has a lot of trails open including Goat and National which have some great early season skiing.

6.      Killington (-1)

Killington recently opened Superstar and Skyelark adding to the trail count while also adding two of the best trails on the mountain.

7.      Waterville Valley (+2)

Waterville Valley is slowly and steadily expanding their trail count and it is making them the best option for skiing in New Hampshire.

8.      Sugarloaf (=)

Sugarloaf has had a steady 60 trails open for a majority of the week and with the Whiffletree area opening over the weekend they have more of a variety.

9.      Okemo (-3)

Okemo is one of the best southern Vermont skiing options and they recently just opened Jackson Gore for the season.

10.  Cannon (=)

Cannon continues to open up terrain and recently got the front five open with Gary’s and Rocket while having terrain open in almost all aspects of the mountain.

11.  Bretton Woods (+3)

Bretton Woods is expanding its terrain on the Rosebrook side of the mountain, and they will likely open more soon.

12.  Bolton Valley (+10)

Bolton Valley had a strong weekend opening up 50 trails at one point.

13.  Loon (-6)

Loon has been really consistent with their trails all year, but they opened the Kanc 8 this weekend, so they got a few more trails open.

14.  Pats Peak (+11)

Pats Peak has opened a majority of the left side of the mountain and is off to one of their strongest starts.

15.  Sunday River (-2)

Sunday River opened the Barker 6 over the weekend and was able to connect a each of the peaks, so you do not have to drive to each mountain.

16.  Smuggler’s Notch (-5)

Smuggs has opened a majority of Sterling, but it has not really opened much else after that.

17.  Stratton (-13)

Stratton has really stayed stagnant with the amount of terrain open while other mountains are growing.

18.  Wildcat (-3)

Wildcat got Polecat open and then had a lot of ungroomed terrain in Lynx and Upper Wildcat also open.

19.  Burke (-7)

Burke had a drop in trail count after a really solid opening weekend.

20.  Mount Snow (-4)

Mount Snow is in a similar situation to Stratton where they have not had a lot of trail openings.

21.  Gunstock (NR)

Gunstock opened for the season with some of the best views in the east while also having a good selection of trails.

22.  Jiminy Peak (+2)

Jiminy Peak continues to have one of the best early seasons in southern New England.

23.  Sunapee (-3)

Sunapee has opened another way down from the top with Upper Blastoff.

24.  Bromley (NR)

Bromley has opened ten trails and has multiple options down the mountain.

25.  Crotched (-7)

Crotched has a nice selection of trails and some really good views from the top.
