With over thirty mountains open within the region we now have enough to fill the Top 30 with all operating resorts!
1. Jay Peak (=)
2. Sugarbush (+5)
3. Stowe (-1)
4. Sunday River (+5)
5. Sugarloaf (-1)
Jay Peak is on the way to being 100% open and has a great shot to do it if the snow keeps falling. Sugarbush jumped from just 19 trails to over 60 this week while Stowe offers nearly all of the terrain off the Forerunner side. Sunday River has connected Jordan and Locke and now has trails open across most peaks while Sugarloaf continues to add terrain.
6. Killington (-1)
7. Mad River Glen (+13)
8. Smugglers Notch (-6)
9. Loon (-3)
10. Bretton Woods (+2)
Killington is now up over 60 trails and Mad River Glen opened over 25 trails across all parts of the mountain on opening weekend. Smugglers Notch continues to have most of Sterling Mountain open while Loon opened the Kanc 8 and Bretton Woods opened Glade West along with most of the terrain in the Zephyr area.
11. Stratton (-1)
12. Okemo (-1)
13. Cannon (=)
14. Waterville Valley (-6)
15. Saddleback (+6)
Stratton and Okemo are very similar but Stratton has a tad more terrain open so they get the nod. Cannon opened Ravine while Waterville held strong with most of the terrain to skiers right of the mountain. Saddleback saw an opening weekend with terrain off the summit including Green Weaver.
16. Mt Snow (-2)
17. Gunstock (+7)
18. Sunapee (+11)
19. Bromley (-2)
20. Bolton Valley (-5)
MT Snow opened Gulch in the terrain park and got some terrain on the North Face side to add some challenge. Gunstock saw Gunsmoke and Trigger open as main trails while Sunapee has a few ways down off the summit but Lower Blastoff is your only exit trail which would make likely to get scraped off fast. Bromley and Bolton Valley have similar terrain open right now but Bromley has Corkscrew open which provides a little more variety.
21. Pats Peak (NR)
22. Black Mountain NH (-6)
23. Pleasant Mountain (+3)
24. Wildcat (-1)
25. Tenney (NR)
Pats Peak saw Twister and Cylone open for their opening weekend while Black Mountain opened the redone Sugarbush trail. Pleasant opened with its scenic trail in Sunset Boulevard while Wildcat added Upper Lynx to the trail system. Tenney also opened this weekend with two top to bottom trails.
26. Ragged (+4)
27. Catamount (NR)
28. Magic Mountain (-6)
29. Attitash (-4)
30. Berkshire East (-2)
Ragged saw Main Street open and has mainly beginner terrain while Catamount opened a few trails off Meadows and the racing trail in Toni Matt. Magic Mountain opened terrain off of Green Chair while Attitash has Saco as the lone top to bottom route. Berkshire East saw a fun opening weekend with an interesting variety of terrain.
