A southern New England storm to close out MLK Jr Weekend caused a small shakeup in the rankings this week.

1.        Jay Peak (+2)

2.        Killington (=)

3.        Mad River Glen (-2)

4.        Sunday River (+2)

5.        Saddleback (-1)

Jay Peak takes the top spot this week after having all its trails open throughout the long weekend while Mad River Glen drops a little due to the snow being a more southern storm. Sunday River hops Saddleback in Maine because they were able to open more terrain while receiving the same amount of snow.

6.        Stratton (+7)

7.        Okemo (=)

8.        Stowe (-3)

9.        Sugarloaf (+2)

10.   Bretton Woods (=)

The southern storm gives a major advantage to Stratton and Okemo here as Stowe drops slightly due to the lack of snow that they received while others in the state got more. Sugarloaf jumps Bretton Woods after opening nearly the whole mountain while Bretton Woods also had a great week getting nearly all their non glades trails open.

11.   Pico (-2)

12.   Waterville Valley (-4)

13.   Cannon (+4)

14.   Loon (-2)

15.   Bolton Valley (-1)

The middle of the rankings is heavy on New Hampshire with Waterville Valley, Cannon, and Loon all being on the same level with good terrain and working chairlifts. Pico and Bolton Valley drop at no fault of their own as other mountains simply received more snow.

16.   Attitash (=)

17.   Smuggler’s Notch (-2)

18.   Sugarbush (=)

19.   Magic Mountain (+3)

20.   Mount Snow (=)

Attitash hops Smuggler’s Notch here as Smuggs keeps closing the upper mountain while Attitash keeps expanding terrain. Sugarbush has great snow right now but the lifts are a problem and Magic Mountain may be Vermont’s best kept secret right now.

21.   Gunstock (=)

22.   Sunapee (-3)

23.   Berkshire East (+3)

24.   Bromley (=)

25.   Black Mountain NH (=)

On to the back ten now with only Sunapee and Berkshire East moving around as Gunstock is a better option than Sunapee for great views and great terrain at a better price. Berkshire East got nearly eight inches of snow at the summit so they get a bump.

26.   Pleasant Mountain (-3)

27.   Wildcat (NR)

28.   Cranmore (-1)

29.   Burke (=)

30.   Catamount (NR)

Wildcat returns to the rankings after a lengthy absence after more than doubling their trail count so far this season. They get a head of Cranmore for offering more challenging terrain and having more snowfall while Burke stays ranked. Catamount sneaks into the rankings after receiving similar snowfall to Berkshire East this weekend.

Biggest Jump: Stratton (13 to 6)

Biggest Drop: Waterville Valley (8 to 12)

New To Rankings: Wildcat, Catamount

Dropped From Rankings: Mt Abram, Mohawk
