Ski season has started and we are back with our weekly Top 30! As in years past the Top 30 is similar to NCAA Football’s Top 25 and ranks mountains based off of snowfall, open terrain, lift status, events, and anything else that may come up. Anyways, with four mountains open we have a new top four!
1. Killington (+4)
2. Bretton Woods (+13)
3. Sunday River (+3)
4. Black Mountain NH (+13)
5. Mad River Glen (-4)
Killington takes the top spot as one of the first mountains open this season and having 20+ trails open in their second week. Bretton Woods was the only mountain to open with top to bottom skiing in New England on Range View so they get the second spot. The only mountain open in Maine, Sunday River takes third this week after it recently opened Sunday Punch to get top to bottom skiing off Locke. Black Mountain had its earliest opening day in 91 years with summit skiing off Upper Maple Slalom. Mad River Glen will open on December 13th.
